Previously I thought Ferguson Case were the nice guys of the two main Ventura firms. Beach Proctor were on my shit list. Now the opposite is true. I had a great experience with Beach Proctor, and this guy Tredway is simply a lying asshole.
Watch out for Tredway, he is the type of attorney who will conveniently lose your fax letters, conveniently tell the court he never recieved your discovery, and will file CCP 473b motions (attorney affadavit of fault) to cover up for his client's mistakes. He knows that even with a 473b motion judges will usually only sanction a few hundred dollars or up to $1,000. (One day I hope he gets nailed with both attorney fee reimbursement and the $1,000 penalty.)
He is also personality minus. Now that may be a good thing if it is you, Tredway and a jury, but he just does not know how to make friends and influence enemies. He simply makes enemies.
His staff and associates are straight forward and easy to get along with. They are more what I expected from a Ventura firm. They also will talk shit about Tredway so I knew it was not my problem.
My suggestion is to document everything with this guy, he will try to twist your words. This guy is also on some weird power trip, but from what his associates hint at, he is an outsider at his firm. If possible, schedule depos late in the afternoon. He is at his office at something like 6:00 a.m. so it may be better to deal with him when he is tired. Or, simply not deal with him if possible.
