He is pretty good. Like 98% of Judicial Officers handling mundane issues like unlawful detainers, traffic, they are pro landlord or the prosecutor. He is not quite as funny as Commissioner Stephens, and cannot process the cases as fast, he may not be as knowledgable of some minute landlord tenant legal issues, but he has a good feel for UD law and gives everyone a fair trial.
I've seen plenty of tenants win, and landlords don't have to worry for ordinary cases.
The only problem is now without pro tems, or enough other judges taking cases, he is very over worked and he trails cases often for two weeks, or you must return in the afternoon. Usually you return another day.
When he started about a year or so ago, he relied a bit too much upon his research attorney for guidance, not he seems to be more on his own.
