Go to http://www.meganslaw.ca.gov/search.asp
for online access to the Megan's law database. Unfortunately, many registered *** offenders do not timely notify law enforcement when they move. Even the Attorney General says their database is at least 20% inaccurate. It also does not list everyone's address. Only about 1/3 have their addresses listed, and only a little more then a 1/2 (of the 110,000 or so "registered *** offenders") have their names in the data base. Oh well. Probably 20% of the people in the database don't really belong there, but had poor legal representation.
